Doomi getting some street cred.

  • Posted: May 15th, 2008

The past few months have been really fascinating to watch. My first little application Doomi has been passed around dozens of blogs, favorited, bookmarked, twittered, screencasted, and pretty much made the webernet rounds. Here’s some statistics. In the past 3 months, Doomi has been installed over 2500 times, it’s single page has been hit over […]

Internet Exporer 6 gets absolute positioning all wrong.
If your using an element as a hook for another elements positioning. IE6 0,0 point doesn’t care about padding, so if you have an element styled like so:

Getting the UNIX path in plain text using Applescript and Quicksilver.

Since working on Burnkit’s massive server the last week I’ve frequently come across the need to email the path of a file to another co-worker. I noticed yesterday that Finder doesn’t have a single place to extract the absolute path of your given location, they even tease you with it in “get info” but for some […]

Firefox: Your image has errors and cannot be displayed.

  • Posted: February 10th, 2008

Well I just ran into an interesting problem. For some reason my images were failing to be displayed in Firefox, no problem in Safari, no problem in IE. The images were standard jpg images. I checked my code for any errors, mistypes, or logic problems, but nothing was found. I opened the image in Photoshop […]

Well it’s official, my little Adobe AIR application is finally in beta, and available for you, your friends, and your spouses to download.

Adobe AIR inspector released!

  • Posted: January 28th, 2008

Just picked this awesome tip off Kevin Hoyt’s blog. This is basically Firebug for AIR, something I’ve been dreaming about since Beta 2. I really could have used this the last few months while developing my AIR app, but better late than never. Its good to see Adobe doing whatever they can to make our […]

Screen grabs, and overdue updates.

  • Posted: December 16th, 2007

The semester has officially come to an end which means, the chaos is over. The last month has been absolutely crazy with school, free-lance, and work. So much so that I havn’t even had the time to update my precious blog. To my loyal readers, I apologize. My current goal is to post here minimum […]

Meebo! You get more cool everyday.

  • Posted: October 30th, 2007

It’s late at night, but the tech industry never sleeps. Meebo opens up a platform for developers… wow.
Guess what one of the first apps is? Video Conferencing through Meebo ( using TokBox ). Finally, somebody besides way too buggy aMSN ( which I still don’t know how to pronounce ) launches a webcam feature. Not […]

Mozilla Labs announces Prism.

  • Posted: October 26th, 2007

Mozilla takes another step forward in bringing web applications outside of the browser. Mozilla describes Prism as “an application that lets users split web applications out of their browser and run them directly on their desktop.” Mozilla’s primary focus seems to be using web apps outside of the browser…. as long as you have a […]
