I haven’t quite figured out why so many people make this mistake, but it seems to pop up everywhere I go these days. Emphasis. Use it tastefully, there’s only so many things that can stand out on your page. And that means, not everything can stand out. Let’s get this one out of the way, by making everything bold, you make nothing bold. In order to emphasize something, you need to have a bunch of un-emphasized. Make sense? Use emphasis on text and graphics to help communicate what’s important, and if everything is “important” take a few steps back and narrow down what your trying to communicate.
