The semester has officially come to an end which means, the chaos is over. The last month has been absolutely crazy with school, free-lance, and work. So much so that I havn’t even had the time to update my precious blog. To my loyal readers, I apologize. My current goal is to post here minimum once a week, and I’ll do my best to stick to that. The good news is, I’ve been busy.. very busy. Doomi ( my Adobe AIR to do list application ) is alive and well, I wrote my 1000th line of javascript just last week. It’s coming along very nicely, it’s currently fully functional in online mode. I’ll begin scripting Offline/Local come January. The image below is a working version of the application.
I’ve also silently launched another project that inspires designers to show off their redesigns. The site allows you to upload an image of the original design and another image of your improved version. Users can rate, and comment on other designer’s work. This project was a ton of fun. Everything from the user registration, authentication, comments engine, ratings, was built entirely from scratch. It’s definitely the most hands-on I’ve ever got with PHP and the most technically impressive thing I’ve done to date. If you want a link to the alpha version fire me an email. In the next few weeks I’ll be launching three different client projects. I’ve put a ton of work into these over the past few months and am very excited for all the launches. I’ll keep you posted with screens an other cool stuff as soon as they come up. In other John news. I’ve managed to score myself a wicked spot at one of Vancouver’s hottest design studio’s, Burnkit. If you havn’t heard of these guys, check them out, they have got some serious talent.
They’re work space (shown above) could not ooze anymore cool, you can check out the pics on their site here. My 6 week full-time practicum starts in late February, it’s going to be an amazing time.
